Botanical Facial Cleanser

A versatile herbal mixture to make your face glow. Recipe by Rosemary Gladstar


So many reasons to try it:

• draws out impurities

• gently exfoliates

• versatile

• soothing to skin

• easy to make

• easy to store


Ingredients:

•2 cups white clay

•1 cup finely ground oats

1⁄4 cup finely ground almonds

1/8 cup finely ground lavender

•1/8 cup finely ground rose petals

•Optional: 1/8 cup poppy seeds or finely ground blue corn


Directions:

1. Combine ingredients and mix well 2. Store in a jar or resealable bag.



Suggested use:

Put about 1 teaspoon of the clay mixture into a bowl. Add about 1 teaspoon of water and stir until a it's the consistency of thick paint.


Option 1

• Gently rub onto the face with fingers or a face brush.

• Rinse off with warm water.


Option 2

• After putting the miracle grains on the face, allow ti to dry.

• Rinse off with water



Tips

• Tap water can be used but impurities in the water may make the wet method go rancid faster.

• Add vitamin E oil to the wet methods to increase shelf life and nourishment to the skin.

• Add in other herbal powders to the clay mixture as desired. Other skin soothing herbs are calendula flowers and chamomile flowers.

• Instead of just water, combine 1/2 cup of the clay mixture with 1/4 cup of honey and 1/4 a cup of distilled water (or rose water). Make enough to last a week or more. Store in a jar with tight lid.
