Crone's Blessing

I offer blessings as I age

The wisdom of the Crone or the Wise Old One grows with the passage of time. She teaches us that aging is not simply a process of watching the years fly by, but that aging is an invitation to make and shape the world within and around us. No matter our age, through aging we have the opportunity to gain wisdom and pass such wisdom on in the form ofblessings - not because we are somehow more wise or specialthan another, but because wisdom is deeply entwined with love and it is in love that we bless ourselves and others.

Speak thefollowing blessing to honor your own aging, the Crone, and as a blessing for others (simply change the "my" and " I " to "your" and "you" for blessing others).

While it may be more traditional to celebrate the wisdom and energy of the Crone at the Dark of the Moon, if you have ever met a Crone you will know that they are great fans of bucking tradition and doing what they will when they will it. So speak (and sing! anddance!) the Crone's blessing at the Full Moon and whenever you like to invite the Wise Old One into your heart!

As the wheel of the year turns

May my journey bring me wisdom

As I age and grow older

May I act in power and wisdom

As I struggle with challenges ahead

May I be strong in wisdom

As I celebrate the joys of living

May I be blessed in wisdom

As the wheel of the year turns again and again

May I be blessed with a thousand lines of wisdom carved into my skin

Like so much moonlight dancing across water and may I know my wisdom as the light and the dark

As all that I was, that I am and that I might be
